Frequently Asked Questions

General

  • What is Spikko?

  • The Spikko service provides you with a local area code line in your country. With this phone number you can receive phone calls and (in select countries) dial from your country to destinations abroad. The rates are very low and call quality is fantastic.
  • What do I need to use the service?

  • No Internet connection is required. No app is required. No need for separate line or phones. All you need is a landline/cellular number from which you can make and receive calls.
  • Will anything change in my current numbers?

  • No. No need to modify or change your current phone services. Our service is separate and does not conflict with your current phone services.
  • In which countries does the service operate?

  • The list of countries where Spikko provides local numbers can be found here. Spikko calls can be received in any country. You can make outgoing calls only from countries in which we have Access numbers. (A list of our numbers can be found here ). If you can’t find your country please contact us.
  • What is the quality of the service?

  • Superb. The call is routed through tier-1 telecom operators.
  • Do I need to make a long-term commitment for the service?

  • No. There is no long-term commitment. You can cancel online anytime. We cannot issue credits for unused minutes.
  • What type of plans do you have?

  • We have plans for inbound calls and outbound calls. Some plans are monthly plans with an allocated amount of minutes. Some plans are “pay as you talk” plans that provide you with an allocated amount of minutes for up to 3 months. The terms are clear in each plan.
  • What happens if I talk for a fraction of a minute?

  • The number of minutes is rounded up to the next minute. So for example, if a call lasts for 5 minutes and 15 seconds, you will be billed for 6 minutes.
  • What happens when I finish all the minutes in my plan?

  • If you click on the “never run out of minutes”, you will be charged for a new batch of minutes once you have less than 15 minutes. So for example, if you have a monthly plan $12 for 1000 minutes/month and are billed on the Sept 1st – then if you use 986 minutes (only 14 minutes remaining) by September 25th, you will be billed again for $12 and will receive an additional 1000 minutes for a total of 1014 minutes. Your next billing date will be October 25th.
  • How much will my callers pay to call me?

  • Your callers will be billed for a local call.
  • How can I keep track of my usage?

  • Just login to our website. You can clearly see the calls and who called you.
  • What happens if I travel abroad?

  • Just buy a local sim. Then, logon to your Spikko account and buy a plan to your new destination. Its that easy. So for example, if you have a UK number that rings in Australia, and you are flying out to Thailand. Buy a thai sim card. Then logon to Spikko and buy a UK to Thailand package. Immediately, your calls will be forwarded to your new Thai number.
